5 Ways to Make Your Kitchen Look Larger and More Inviting

Source: Lulani Faucet Co.

Kitchen and bath have always been popular remodeling choices, but even those saw a 40% jump in demand in June compared with a year ago (CNBC). More people are cooking and eating at home, and kitchens are now even more the center of family life. We’re rounding up our top 5 ways to make your kitchen look larger and more inviting.

1. Keep Your Faucets Clean: Reflective appliances, countertops and faucet finishes amplify the light of the room and add depth. The same can be said for reflective backsplash tiles, like glass or metal. Note that glossy surfaces need to be cleaned frequently, but it’s worth a little extra work. Head over to our blog on how to clean your Lulani faucet for more tips!

2. Go Minimal: Less is more and it’s time to simplify your kitchen décor. Living a minimalist lifestyle is reducing, and there are a few pretty obvious benefits of minimalism such as less cleaning and stress, a more organized household and more money to be saved, but there are also a few deep, life-changing benefits like freedom. Now more than ever, it’s time to go through your mugs, dishes, silverware and only keep the ones you use. With countertop space neat and tidied, you and your family are more likely to spend more quality time hanging out and cooking in a space that doesn’t feel overwhelming. This will help relieve clutter and make your house guests feel more welcome too. Best part? Less mess to clean and even easier when you move!

3. Aim For Lighter Colors: Incorporating white in cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes and walls is not only in trend, but it also gives an impression of space without boundaries. A palette of lighter, brighter colors—such as whites, grays and blues—will have a similar feel of openness. Strategically placing pops of contrast can help guide the eye to different areas of the space while infusing the room with your own personality. Homes with natural light always appear to be larger and more inviting to house guests as well.

4. Install Shelving:Installing shelving and cabinets that reach to the ceiling will elongate your kitchen giving the illusion that the space is larger than it actually is. Not only is this very practical, but it tends to be a huge trend Interior Designers are using. Adding Perrier or beautiful vases on the shelves will assist in elevating the overall look of your kitchen and it will bring the eye up to the ceiling- and voila! A larger home.

5. Remove A Wall: Removing a wall can help your kitchen share space with the adjoining room. Instant openness! If you’re not able to remove the whole thing, you can still open up sight lines and create the appearance of more space by going with a half-wall, counter or pass-through. The benefit of an open floor plan is that it makes spaces appear larger, which is especially good for smaller homes. Open concept floor plans can make small areas feel much larger than they actually are. This also increases resale value. This floor plan is very popular and having one can boost the value of your home when it comes time to sell.

I like the idea of getting glass backsplash tiles to help the room appear larger. I don’t have a backsplash on my kitchen wall but would like to add one soon, for both aesthetic and practical reasons. It would be smart to talk with a professional about my backsplash options. https://daveytile.com/johnstown-oh
